December Update

As we wrap up the fall sports season, we want to congratulate all of our athletes and highlight a few of the teams:

  • Congratulations to Varsity Field Hockey, our Class L State Champions! This is the sixth overall field hockey state crown and third out of the last six.
  • Congratulations to Varsity Football on a very exciting Turkey Bowl victory over the Darien Blue Wave (12-7). The win qualified our team for the CIAC playoffs. Unfortunately, the season came to an end with a disappointing loss to Darien in the semifinals.
  • Congrats again to Boys Golf, our D1 State and FCIAC Champions!
  • Girls Soccer qualified for both the FCIAC and CIAC Playoffs.
  • Girls Swim and Dive finished 3rd at the Class L Championship Meet.
  • Girls Cross Country had a great championship season finishing 3rd at the FCIAC Championship Meet, 2nd at the CIAC Class L Championship and 7th in the State Open.

We are looking forward to a fantastic winter season! Winter sports and youth/high school soccer clinic registration is open on www.ncrams.com

Our winter season opened December 6, with V Girls Ice Hockey v. Greenwich Academy at Darien Ice at 6pm. The girls won with a score of 4-3.

Admission is charged at the ice rink and at all home Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball games. Booster members, please bring your membership card to the games. NCHS students are free at NCHS but must pay for entry at Darien Ice Rink.

Please come out and support the RAMS!

PERFORMING ARTS
NCHS Choral Program Winter Performance
Wednesday, Dec 15 | 7:00 PM

The New Canaan community is invited to join the NCHS Concert Choir, Madrigal Ensemble and Bella Voce this holiday season to celebrate the work of our student musicians in a program entitled Celebrating Latin American Composers. This annual concert is free, open to the public, and will feature all three choral ensembles and student soloists in this one-hour performance.

Ensembles will perform works by 20th-century choral composers, arrangers and poets from Latin American countries, celebrating their unique voice and musical influence. Pieces include a Mexican folk song (Dos Corazones), a Puerto Rican traditional Christmas aguinaldos (Abreme La Puerta), poems of love and protest from Argentina (Te Quiero & Indianas Suite), a Brazilian Ave Maria paired with songs from the indigenous Kraó tribe (Tres Cantos Nativos) and selections from the Broadway musical In The Heights

EVENT LOCATION: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, New Canaan
