Colleges Visiting NCHS

College visits begin the week of September 12. Seniors who wish to attend college visits and hear first-hand the latest news from colleges in which they may be interested must register for the visits on Naviance and ask for permission from the faculty to miss class.

Students who are unable to meet with the reps should stop by the CCC before the visit time and fill out a form indicating their interest in the visiting school. Attendance is taken at these sessions which will be conducted in person or via  Zoom.

The visit schedule may be viewed through Naviance and on the School Counseling page of the NCHS website.

Juniors & Sophomores
PSAT Registration & Test Dates

The PSAT will be offered at New Canaan High School on Saturday, Oct 15, 2022. Juniors must register for the test online between Sep 7 - Sep 16, 2022. Click HERE to visit the registration site. The fee is $40.00.

Any student registering after Sep 16, 2022, will be charged a late fee of $10 in addition to the $40.00 fee. No registration will be accepted after Sep 19, 2022.

This is the only date that the PSAT is offered at NCHS this fall.

School Counselors recommend that all members of the JUNIOR class take the PSAT as preparation for the SAT that is taken the following spring. This is also the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program for juniors.

Please contact your school counselor for help determining if your SOPHOMORE is ready to take the PSAT. Sophomores who are ready and interested in taking an initial PSAT can sit for the test being offered at New Canaan High School on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Sophomores may register for the test by visiting the above registration site.

Athletics
NC Rams All Sports Booster Club

The NC Rams All Sports Booster Club supports all New Canaan High School athletic programs. We raise and distribute funds to provide necessary athletic program components which are above and beyond those provided by the NCHS athletic budget and assures equity of resources for all CIAC-recognized sports. Each year, the Club funds additional coaches for every team, raising the skillset and abilities of all athletes.

More than 70% of all NCHS students participate in school athletics in any given year. For these students, athletics are an integral part of the educational process. Through athletic participation, students learn teamwork, work ethic, time management and a responsibility to others.
