NCHS Senior Internship Program Needs Hosts

The NCHS Senior Internship Program (SIP) needs companies and organizations to host seniors from May 16 to June 9, 2023. Seniors intern for approximately 5 hours during the school day and receive school credit.  We will accept in-person, remote, or hybrid internships. 

The SIP is a mutually beneficial program for students and companies. The deadline to post an internship with us is January 3, 2023. Seniors will view available internships beginning in January. Please contact Heather Bianco via email or phone (203) 594-4752 for more information.

NCHS Athletics

Calling All NCHS Downhill Skiers! Are you interested in alpine racing at the high school level? Come join the NCHS Alpine Ski Team! 

NCHS alpine racers work on athletic conditioning and race training with experienced coaches in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. If interested contact Ned Ravanesi.

Tutors Needed for NCPS

NCPS is looking for per diem tutors to work with students who are unable to attend school, usually for a medical reason. This is a wonderful, flexible opportunity for New Canaan parents.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree (teaching certification not required). The tutoring is under the direction of our NCPS teachers. You will be using the NCPS curriculum and materials provided by the teacher / guidance counselor
  • a caring helpful nature 
  • an understanding of confidentiality

New Canaan Education Association
Poinsettia Sale Fundraiser

The New Canaan Education Association is sponsoring their annual fundraising poinsettia sale this year. The deadline for orders is November 28. Click here to order! 

Plants will be available for pick up starting December 7. Details to follow.

The New Canaan Education Association uses the funds raised to make charitable donations to local and state charities, including a $1,000 college scholarship to a deserving NCHS senior with an interest in entering the field of education.

New Canaan CARES
"Kids Menu: The Substances Available to Our Kids These Days and the Effects on Their Lives"

December 1 | 7:00 pm

Please join New Canaan CARES and its partners in welcoming NCHS Resource Officer Jeff Deak and Tricia Dahl, Research Assistant from Yale School of Medicine, in an eye-opening discussion about the common substances accessible to our children, how they affect the adolescent brain, and what we see in our community and schools.

New Canaan Chamber Music's 2022 Holiday Concert

Tickets are on sale now for New Canaan Chamber Music's 2022 Holiday Concert. For those who think that harps and flutes belong at weddings and in the hands of angels, this concert will be a thrilling shock to the system! Demarre McGill (flute), Valerie Muzzolini (harp) and Edward Arron (cello) join NCCM's very own Andrew Armstrong at the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan.
