In addition to the $40K that the PFA invests in the school each year, we also earmark over $10K to faculty and staff for school related items and extra curricular activites that are not covered in the school budget. These grants are given out twice a year to enhance our students NCHS experience.
In the Fall of 2014, our grants:

Funded a New York Times online student subscription for research in English and Social Studies classes. ($2.2K)

Purchased library seating for the entire student community. ($3.1K)

Supported the piloting of a school-wide wellness program through the Nursing Department. ($.8K)

Provided microphones and a camera jib for filmmaking classes. ($.9K)

Helped to purchase recording equipment for the Music Department. ($.5K)

Purchased supplies to enhance NCHS's first ever Film Festival. ($.4K)

Sponsored fees for various clubs and competitions (Debate, Mathematics, Caring Crew). ($1K)
